A Coral Springs man, James E. Coleman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the ramp from I-75 (the Sawgrass Expressway) as he was entering the Florida Turnpike northbound lane.

Monday, October 23, 2017:  James E. Coleman, 40, of Coral Springs was driving a Toyota Corolla and died at the scene. He was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer had lost control after braking when he reached heavy traffic. This caused the truck to jackknifed into the next lane and crashing into Coleman's car, which hit the truck that traveling in front of him, police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to a hospital and has been released with minor injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. They added that the ramp, along with one lane on the Florida Turnpike, will be closed until 5pm today.
